Column of Trajan

The Column of Trajan is a 100 foot column pictorial narrative of the Dacian campaigns. This pieces really took my breath away. To see how much detail went into this giant column is un heard of that is why I chose to show two pictures. The first thing that came to my mind was how long it must have took to plan and complete this piece! Now a days no one would take the time to even attempt this! We are too impatient now with all of our technology and whats sad is that even if someone did do something like this i don't think it would even get the praise it should recieve! Just from reading the short writing about it i really want to look up the really stories to so i can relate them to the pictures. Just an amazing piece.

This is an amazing piece! I liked it as well. I agree if there were artists who ventured to build or make the same structure in todays world that it would not come out near the same. People have a different work ethic today than in years past. The time it would have taken to place the details in the column is overwealming to me to even comprehend. Take care, Jon
